Publication of PAVE Framework!
The publication of our “Proposal for the Health Data Utilization Framework in Greece: Results of the Partnering for Adding Value in the Health Ecosystem (PAVE) project” highlights the key outcomes of the PAVE project, which responds to the urgent need to improve both access to and the effective use of electronic health data in Greece. Beyond supporting direct healthcare delivery (primary use), the framework emphasizes the broader societal benefits, including health technology assessment (HTA), research and innovation, policy development, patient safety, and personalized medicine (secondary use).
The PAVE Framework, structured around four essential pillars and underpinned by a supportive legal and funding environment, provides a coherent foundation for shaping a national action plan to strengthen Greece’s health data ecosystem and facilitate the generation of Real-World Evidence from Real-World Data.
We sincerely thank all contributing authors Panos Stafylas, Dimitrios G. Katehakis, Angelina Kouroubali, PhD, FIAHSI, Elena Stafyla, Konstantinos Votis and Panagiotis Bamidis, for their invaluable input and extend our appreciation to Novartis for supporting this important work.
